Agency History

The agency originally opened it's doors in the roaring 20's as part of the First National Bank of Milaca. In 1941, The J.A. Allen Agency was formed, named after the grandfather of Burton "Pete" Allen, Jr.

Pete Thomes came to Milaca in 1997 to manage the agency and on April 1, 2003, purchased the agency in its entirety from the Allen Family and their partners. For over 80 years the independent agency has provided a wide variety of insurance protection for thousands of people in our area. The history and stability of the agency is evidence of their commitment to you the customer. Safeguard has never lost sight of their vision of providing professional, hometown insurance services to the people of Milaca and surrounding communities.
